Kosher OG, also known as Kosher Kush, is an indica-dominant hybrid strain that is said to be the first strain to be blessed by a rabbi. Not much is known about its lineage, though we do know that it’s a member of the OG Kush family thanks to its funky, earthy odor that is highly reminiscent of the famed OG Kush strain.

True Kosher OG is a phenotype of an unknown strain that originated as a clone-only cut out of Los Angeles, CA. However, a few different seedbanks have recently started selling feminized Kosher OG seeds. On average, it tests in with staggering levels of THC reported at anywhere from 20-25%. Kosher OG offers predominantly indica effects, including a powerful physical relaxation that alleviates discomfort from chronic pain. It’s highly sought after for medical patients struggling with insomnia and high levels of stress, in addition to chronic pain and depression. However, Kosher OG also offers a generously cerebral sativa buzz that can elevate a sour mood and allow productivity and a happy state of mind to shine through. While Kosher OG promotes indica-dominant effects, she tends to display sativa-dominant features as she grows. Kosher OG grows tall and sparse with large prominent flowers. Left to grow freely, the flowering stalks almost resemble cattails as the light green water leaves are few and far between on her long vine-like branches. That being said, she requires lots of pinching and training to keep her manageable and encourage bigger yields. Under perfect circumstances, Kosher OG can produce around 550 highly-resinous grams per square yard. Much like her water leaves, her flowers are also very light green to yellow, but compact and dense. Each flower is covered in a thick blanket of THC-rich trichomes as well as sandy orange to red pistils.

Breaking the flowers open reveals a treasure trove of an even more adhesive layer of trichomes, hence the high THC percentages in Kosher OG. On the nose, she displays those rich earthy notes of over-ripe fruit that you’ve come to expect from strains in the OG Kush family. An inhale will warrant fresh herbal flavors and bright lemony citrus, though the smoke is quite peppery and bound to make you cough. The aftertaste is that of earth and a pleasant spiciness that leaves a lasting warming impression that’s sure to have you relaxed in no time.
