Valley OG is a 60/40 indica-dominant hybrid cross between OG Kush and SFV OG (San Fernando Valley OG). It was bred in California, though its intense flavor, high THC content, and relaxing, pain-relieving properties have made it a highly sought-after strain in many parts of the United States. If you like the flavor profile and effects of OG Kush, you’ll love Valley OG. Just be sure to be mindful of your dose, as Valley OG contains anywhere from 20-27% THC.

Valley OG grows like a standard indica with broad dark green water leaves and short bushy stalks. Her flower structure is dense and round and her colas tend to grow tightly packed football-shaped flowers that break off into smaller, equally dense popcorn nugs. The flowers themselves are light green or sage in color and are coated in a thick blanket of trichomes. Breaking the sticky little flowers open reveals even more highly resinous trichomes, making Valley OG an ideal strain for making concentrates. When dried, the color changes to a lighter shade of green with sandy red pistils curling throughout.

Valley OG Weed Review

Valley OG takes after its OG Kush parent in the scent and flavor department, too. Much like OG Kush (and to a lesser extent SFV OG), Valley OG takes on a very pungent earthy aroma. In some cases, it may take on a sour lemon aroma. However, the scent becomes more refined when it’s tasted. On an inhale, Valley OG has a very piney earthy flavor. The smoke is on the thicker side and contains earthy, peppery terpenes like caryophyllene that may make you cough. On an exhale, the flavor takes on a very fuel-like taste reminiscent of the OG Kush parent. The aftertaste is that of diesel and lemon citrus, making for a very funky, spicy and sweet flavor profile.

Valley OG Cannabis Review

While the scents and flavors are intriguing on their own, Valley OG is grown for its wide variety of physical and cerebral effects. As an indica-dominant hybrid, most of the effects are physical. Valley OG may cause a slight couchlock, but it also reduces pain, stress and headaches. It’s also known for causing the munchies, which can be beneficial for people struggling with an eating disorder or the unpleasant side effects of certain medications. It also provides a gentle cerebral effect that may help soothe symptoms of depression, anxiety and stress. Many medical patients choose Valley OG for these effects that can help treat medical conditions like insomnia, migraines, eating disorders, arthritis, muscle spasms, PMS and chronic pain.

Valley OG Marijuana Review

All in all, Valley OG offers a distinct, pungent flavor and a great mind and body high. It can help soothe or treat a variety of conditions, though it’s best used as a nighttime and evening medicine since it’s great for helping you eat and get to sleep. Next time you see Valley OG at your favorite dispensary, be sure to give it a try.
